A family owned and operated winery established in 1970 by the Church family.

Making wines from estate grown grapes planted on the north facing slopes of the Warramate Ranges overlooking the magnificent Yarra Valley.

Small quantities of premium quality handcrafted Riesling, Cabernet Merlot, Pinot Noir and Shiraz wines from vines that are now 38 years old.

From the beginning, the vines have been 'dry-grown', without irrigation, and hand-pruned and hand harvested. The vineyard is managed with a strong emphasis on sustainability; mulching and green crop manures are standard practice and there is no irrigation. Organic methods are scientifically trialled and used wherever possible.

The wines were originally made by Jack Church. Since 2000, his son David Church has been chief winemaker having obtained a degree in Wine Science from Charles Sturt University. David's winemaking is characterised by finesse, elegance and refinement. The wines reflect this with complexity and subtlety and technical excellence.

The Warramate philosophy is to make the highest quality wines from excellent estate fruit in a sustainable manner.

Shortest Lunch

Warramate Wines is participating in this year's "Shortest Lunch".

The Yarra Valley’s smaller winemakers invite you all to join them for the 2009 Shortest Lunch. A moving feast of entrée size meals and tasty morsels, it’s the perfect way to meander around the Valley’s boutique wineries and savour great food, wine and music, without the hustle and bustle.

The Shortest Lunch is our way of celebrating the shortest weekend of the year (the Winter Solstice) in a relaxed, family oriented weekend of progressive, all-day dining to ward off those winter chills.

All meals are Gluten Free, with a  Vegetarian option. $15.00 per plate. Ice creams $5.00 each.
Come and enjoy this wonderful weekend of fine food and live music all weekend. All undercover, so no need to worry about being cold or wet. Just enjoy the food, music and wine.

So join us on 20 and 21 June as we share with you the big things that are happening in the Yarra Valley’s smaller wineries.

The Shortest Lunch promotes responsible consumption of alcohol and responsible driving.
